As you might expect, our team here at Everything Polaris Sportsman was originally (and still is) composed exclusively of lifelong UTV enthusiasts. While it admittedly took us a little while to shift our attention from side-by-sides and fully embrace the Polaris Sportsman, the past few years of innovation especially have turned us into official Polaris Sportsman fanboys and fangirls. Like the “jeep” of ATVs, we just can’t get enough of the impressive power, utility, and convenience packed into the small, but mighty Polaris Sportsman. Once we truly appreciated just how versatile and rugged the Sportsman really is (did you know this thing can plow snow like a literal truck?), we couldn’t help but jump into this space and put our own spin on it with, of course, a complete selection of highly rated Polaris Sportsman accessories and upgrades. Since then, it’s been year after year of continued innovation, and like little kids on Christmas, we eagerly await what Polaris is going to do next.

Polaris has a knack for subverting their fans’ expectations in unexpected, yet awesome ways, and the moves they made in 2023 provides an excellent example of this. For example, even though Sportsman fans had long been calling for an upgrade to the Highlifter line, which excels at tackling muddy terrain, Polaris actually discontinued the Highlifter in 2023. But never fear, because rising from the ashes of the Highlifter line arose the Sportsman 1000 once again, and it was a triumphant rise indeed. Rest assured, the 2023 version of the Sportsman lineup came back with upgrades, including extended cargo racks (570 models), better tie-downs, enhanced CV guards, and much more. In other words, even the Highlifter purist had to admit in 2023 that change isn’t always a bad thing as Polaris paved the way towards an even brighter future for the historically favored ATV.
Continuing backwards in time along our tour of the Polaris Sportsman’s evolution, 2022 was an excellent year for incorporating user feedback. For example, one of the most consistent complaints that Sportsman buyers had about the 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 Trail Edition was that the hood latches were flimsy. Of course, ATV riders know that this is definitely not going to do for bumpy trail riding, and thankfully, Polaris quickly caught on, swapping them out for much stronger clasps with the 2022 version. Another key upgrade that enhanced the 2022 Sportsman’s utility was the improvement in storage options, including zippered storage pouches that fit under the seat. Finally, this is the year that Polaris made a major upgrade to the headlights, which were upgraded to LED headlights in 2022 (from halogen headlights). Rest assured, 2022 felt like an all-around win for committed Sportsman buyers and newbies alike, and it demonstrated Polaris’ continued commitment to listening to and incorporating feedback from their audience.
